Living in the Sewers of Bogota Columbia

in #documentary7 years ago

Aside from literally sleeping in feces, these people are dodging rats, flash floods and drug addicts. What's worse, the sewer dwellers are constantly under attack by local "death squads," who fire open rounds and pour gasoline into their underground homes, then set them ablaze.

Sadly this is the truth! I was born in Colombia and lived in Bogotá a big part of my life. People usually live in these places because the government doesn't care about poor people and drug addicts, so they must escape to the worst places of the city: sewers. I remember sometimes coming out of my house to get the bus and see people going out of the sewers of the city... It's so sad. I helped his Mrs. Jaramillo's foundation for a couple of years by donating money, I hope this situation will get better in the future and government stops killing them for no reason...
