Sold out! Doctor Strange 2 for IDR 394 billion on the first day of broadcast

Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness aired simultaneously in 20 countries on Wednesday (4/5). On the first day of screening, the film, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, earned millions of dollars.
Quoted from Variety, Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness managed to sell tickets for USD $ 27.2 million or equivalent to IDR 394 billion as of Thursday (5/5). That's just four percent below Spider-Man: No Way Home and 153 percent above the first Doctor Strange film, which was released in 2016.

Not only that, Disney also said Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness occupied the number 1 position at the international box office throughout Asia Pacific. No different from the European market which was officially opened for France, Italy, and Germany.

In South Korea, Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness recorded the strongest sales figure at the international box office with USD $5.9 million, followed by Japan with USD $3.8 million. While in France, this film managed to sell USD $ 3 million and USD $ 2.2 million for Italy.

It was previously reported that Doctor Strange 2 is not expected to be released in China due to the difficulty of Hollywood films entering the Chinese market recently. The film will also not be shown in Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine.
