DNW POETRY CONTEST #3: TIME, THE LORD

And there was a bang,
A reason for the cosmos to hang,
A drink from the milky way,
To time, the old lord, shall I say.

From a tiny speck of dust,
There came the morning till dusk,
The moon for the night and sun for day,
To time, the lord of patience, the hours did pay.

Into the water, the fish do swim,
Millions and millions, where do I begin,
Back on land, the human triumph,
To time, the quiet lord, nine months a seed was birth.

A seed so destructive did grow,
Full of cruelty and hate, what a sorrow,
But alas, nothing shall last,
To time, the lord who knew so wide so vast.
