Gun sales have set new records many times over the past 25-30 years. Meanwhile, violent crime (including "gun crime) has plummeted by about 50% overall during that same period. Crime remains high in urban centers with highly controlled economies and aggressive enforcement of arbitrary prohibitions that create the atmosphere for violent black markets. Coincidentally, the most violent urban centers have extremely strict gun control laws.
Gun ownership does not cause crime.
Gun control laws do not prevent crime.
"Laws" are almost invariably enforced by committing crimes.
It is not an honor to be in this post as a Venezuelan citizen that I am and not because I kill people for carrying a weapon, but because I can not use a tool that can help me defend myself from those outside the law if they can get them.
