Good Luck with the Bitshares. My meme was sort of making fun of the impracticable transferability of Bitshares. In honesty BTC isn't much better with the current gas prices. Some major exchanges like Polionix have halted the trading/withdrawing/depositing of bts due to its volitily the last week. My post was sort of inspired by that. I cant even sell my BTS that i have at the moment... they are completely worthless until polionix allows me to trade/transfer them.
Well, isn't being completely dependent on the poloniex's decisions kinda your own fault? They close down their bts wallet at whim and it doesn't have anything to do with volatility. The bts price followed the market and it surely is not so dramatically volatile in comparison to other coins. When reached out to by our representatives they just remain silent. So the blame is on them.
But you, as an individual, could at least do some research on what you are trading. Bitshares has an exchange of its own, built in to the platform. But if you prefer to trust some random guys at polo with your money then reap what you sow I guess
