Good points. I think I prefer storing my passwords in a hidden encrypted file which is stored in a couple of offline digital media and hidden. Having a paper copy is one way I guess, but it might be an idea to change one of the letters using your own secret code. For example, in all of your written down passwords you could change the 3rd letter for the next letter in the alphabet. That way you know to change it back but if someone should get hold of the paper they'd have no way of knowing which bit had been changed.
