Learning Bohemian Rhapsody - Ukulele Instrumental
Hello, DLive! Today I'm going to be learning(literally, not a tutorial) how to play Jake Shimabukuro's Bohemian Rhapsody - Ukulele Instrumental.
Learning Bohemian Rhapsody on Ukelele
I've looked up the tabs to this song before, and they're available online, but it's still a challenge to learn. Some of that challenge could just be the difficulty of the song, and some of it I'm sure, is simply due to me being a novice. Whatever the case, one of my favorite Ukulele Youtubers Akirito recently put together a tutorial video of Jake's instrumental. For me this is great news, since Akirito has been a larger part of my learning Ukulele fingerstyle songs, by way of his tutorials. The tutorials aren't always the easiest to decipher the information, but he usually goes over things a few times and give you a few options on how to play so, uke brudah, thank you.

Below I have shared both Jake Shimabukuro and Akirito's rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody. Also, here is the link to Akirito's Tutorial Part 1, in case you'd like to learn the song yourself.

Let The Learning Begin!
Today's video will be part 1 of Learning Bohemian Rhapsody. I'm not sure how many parts it will take, but it's a fairly long song, so I imagine there might a few more after this one. My intention is not to spam with the same post, but to show my progress with this song. Hopefully, I'll get the song down good enough to premiere on Steemit Open Mic. Let's start playing!
About Bohemian Rhaposdy
Bohemian Rhapsody was originally written and produced by the band Queen in 1975 as a part of their album, A Night at the Opera. The song is the story of a man that's just "thrown his life away" after committing a murder. The lead vocalist (Freddy Mercury) sings of his sins in a monologue to his mother, as the ballad takes off on one of the greatest musical journeys of the 20th century.
The song is technically a suite, comprised of 5 sections without a chorus: intro(0:00-0:49), ballad (0:49-2:40), guitar solo(2:40-3:05), operatic passage(opera)(3:05-4:07), hard rock(4:07-4:54), coda(4:54-5:55).

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me
Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters
Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo (anyway the wind blows)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo Figaro - magnifico
But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go will you let me go
Bismillah! No we will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go let me go
Will not let you go let me go (never)
Never let you go let me go
Never let me go ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me
For me
For me
So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh baby, can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out just gotta get right outta here
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters nothing really matters to me
Anyway the wind blows|
