Antipolo SUMAKAH Festival 2018

Yesterday me, my wife and my 4 years old daughter we been watching the SUMAKAH Festival, the SUMAKAH festival celebrated every 1st of May. Definition the major products of the City, SUman, MAngga, KAsoy and the old means of transportation going up to the highlands of Antipolo, i.e. the Hamaka (hammock or duyan). The festival was not just about these products but the entire industry and the colorful cultural and historical heritage of the City.

During the entire month of May which is also the month dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, thousands of devotees will go to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. Here in the Philippines the month of May is a festival month for some of Municipality and Provinces they celebrated different kinds of festival like Pahiyas festival and Flores De Mayo. SUMAKAH festival it is celebrated with different programs and activities such as Street Dancing Competitions, cultural presentations, arts and culinary exhibits as well as agro-industrial and tourism fair.

All participants in this festival are students from different schools and levels all schools represent there drums and lyre. I'm so pretty amaze because some members of drums and lyre are too young but they all really goods. With colorful and creative costumes, graceful moves and marching bands SUMaKaH Festival is showcased in a street dancing by the students from different schools in the province.

The Parade

Nakukutuwa na may ganitong klase ng kapistahan tuwing Mayo dito sa Antipolo ang SUMAKAH festival ay sumisimbolo sa mga pangunahing produkto ng siyudad ng Antipolo ang SUman, MAngga, Kasoy at HAmaka sa mga hindi nakakaalam ang Hamaka ay isang duyan na ginagamit nuon bilang isang transportasyon. Ang Antipolo ay isang mataas na kabundok na malapit sa Maynila ito ay itinuturing na pinaka malapit na probinsya sa Maynila. Maalamat at maraming kwento ang Antipolo makulay at maganda ang siyudad ng Antipolo.

Kasabay ang pagpaparangal sa Mahal na Birhen ng Kapayapaan at Mabuting Paglalakbay, ang patroness ng Antipolo na tuwing Mayo ay pinupuntahan ng mga deboto mula sa iba’t ibang bayan at lungsod sa Metro Manila, Rizal at karatig lalawigan upang magpasalamat sa natanggap na mga biyaya. Bahagi rin ng Antipolo Maytime Festival ang Musikahan o Battle of the Bands sa Sumlong Park, ang Talent Night ng mga kandidata sa Queen of Antipolo at ang Suman Fusion and Agri-Torism Fair sa Sumlong Park na tuwing Sabado at Linggo ay tampok ang mga produkto ng mga nasa mountain barangay ng Antipolo.

Ang Antipolo Maytime Fstival ay pagpapahalaga ng pamahalaang lungsod at ng mga Antipolenyo sa kanilang kultura at tradisyon.
