A good dApp will have developers that listen to community feedback. They're cognizant of the fact that they are beholden to the people that use the dApp they write. Those are the dApps that will survive, and those are the ones that will thrive.

It's something that I've noticed having been on Steemit, Tsu, and other networks. Think about community engagement on Steemit, dLive, and back when we were on Tsu. Now compare that with Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Night and day difference, isn't it? When there are issues on Steemit, the community talks about it. Remember when the witnesses were discussing the need for pegging the SBD to $1USD? The witnesses were incredibly civil, and people like @aggroed and @reggaemuffin took the time to listen to the users.

While they're witnesses, and people who are beholden to the steemit community at large, I believe there are dApp developers out there who do listen to the community and do take their jobs seriously. People like @jimmylin from @dlive and @pasadomata from @steepshot come to mind right away. They're involved in the community, they engage the users, and they take the time to make things right when things go wrong. If anything, I'd say it's a good idea to build up the good examples, and help them make the right decisions.

But in EOS right now the dapp devs have full control over their currency to a point where they can just add or remove tokens freely. I seriously hope SMTs wont work this way.

Oh, I'm in agreement with you on that. The terms that come with the EOS wallets are prett plenty worrisome.
