I agree with everything that you said. One thing I would add is that the SMTs are allowing one to earn more STEEM down the road. Being an early adopter into a SMT means a bigger piece of the pie, which can be turned into STEEM once the DEX is complete with all pairings. That is huge in my opinion.

As STEEM gets harder to earn, which it will, this is a way for people to acquire through their efforts. The SMTs are the sidedoor route.
