Drug abuse or drug addiction is a psychiatric, social and psychological problem that not only affects the youth of the whole world, but also affects people of different ages. It destroys individuals and society in many areas, in which the main is social, physical, cultural, emotional and economic. Due to fear of drugs, nervousness and insecurity of the brain are created to survive such widespread disorders. There are some medicines like nicotine, cocaine, caffeine, heroine, morphine, cannabis, meth, etc. which stimulate gray matter and nervous system, resulting in an advanced alertness and reaction.
Due to the addiction of such drugs, there is serious loss of appetite and weight, constipation, anxiety and irritability, sleepiness and loss of functioning. There are many other such substances that slow down the brain by not speeding up the process and make the nervous system sluggish. The result is that they have to take pain medicines and sleeping medicines.
About the illegal smuggling of drugs
Drug trafficking is an international illegal trade involving prohibited substance, production, cultivation, spread and sale according to basic laws. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is monitoring and investigating illegal international drug markets to conduct a more comprehensive study of this threat. United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is an international organization that is fighting against misuse of illegal drugs and its production, which is considered an international offense. In 1997, this organization was established with the United Nations Drug Control Program, merged with International Crime Prevention Center. The United Nations Office is operating on Drugs and Crime worldwide. The United Nations Department relies on contributions that are made voluntarily by government institutions. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is compulsory for helping members to fight illegal drug trafficking, crime rates and fight against international terrorism. In its annual announcement, the members of this organization have resolved to fight the growing crime rate in the illegal pharmaceutical industry in all its forms and strengthen their efforts to counter them.
History of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illegal Trafficking
From June 26, 1988, the day is celebrated every year for international drugs and illegal trafficking. On this day, Human, Guangdong, who was famous for the destruction of the illicit trafficking and misuse of opium in China, was chosen to remember him. On December 7, 1987, the General Assembly of the United Nations decided to resolve its 40/122 resolution on November 9, 1985, and organized a meeting on drug abuse and illegal trafficking and decided to fight it completely. This was the first step of the meeting in which Secretary-General organized an international conference on misuse of drugs and illegally distributed it at Ministerial level in Vienna, Austria.
