Feb ’18 DLive Analysis - Blockchain Business Intelligence
If you still stream on Twitch, then you’re streaming in the wrong place my friend….welcome to DLive
DLive is one of those awesome apps built on the Steemit platform. If you are looking for a streaming solution then DLive is surely worth checking out.
Although relatively new, DLive is heavily funded by way of delegated SP from Steemit Inc and has such massive potential.
Aim of Analysis
The aim of this analysis is to monitor the monthly activity from @dlive in terms of voting. It is also to analyse posts made via the Dlive app and posts made to the dlive category on the STEEM Blockchain
This analysis will be carried out on a monthly basis so that trends can be established and growth measured.
The Data
The data from the blockchain is limited. When it comes to streaming videos, metrics such as streaming duration and number of viewers are of critical importance if you are trying to grow your channel. However this data is not collected on the blockchain and not part of this analysis
Using PowerBI, I have connected to the SteemSQL database (paid subscription service held and managed by @arcange). You can find full details of the query used at the bottom of the article

And the list below shows those that engage with the posts via comments
Conclusion
Dlive is an awesome project, receiving 22K posts in the month of Feb and voting for 3639 of them. This means that almost 1 in 7 posts made will be voted on by @dlive. @dlive voted on average 130 times a day in Feb. I am not sure how much of this is manual curation – maybe someone from the Dlive team could let me know?
77% of the payout in this category comes from @dlive and for Dlive.io to be self-sufficient this should really be lower. However there are many factors not in the data above that impacts this and right now, this is not a problem. For one – Dlive is only a baby and needs to grow and this will take time!
Welcome to the block @dlive – I wish you every success in with this project and hope to be a contributor as soon as my studio problems are resolved. I will be preparing this report on a monthly basis to track the progress of the project
Do you have any questions or queries on the data above? If so, please do leave a comment below

@paulag amazing article. I'm a numbers person myself so the way you break this down is amazing. Maybe one day you can bring a BI type stream to DLive?
On the part of your article where you said in February we voted on average 130 times a day. This is done manually by my small team, and we will continue to do more and better as time goes on. We love seeing new streamers and new content :D
Your team work hard and do great work @jimmylin. thank you making @dlive good platform for us.
so happy you stopped by @jimmylin and thank you for clearing up the question I had on curation. Thats a lot of work - hope to see the team keep it up. Really glad you like this report!
Bring BI to Dlive is an option - as an online instructor for my day job - Dlive offers a lot that us instructors need. I did notice your learning category on discord :-). I would like to talk with you about this, and about more data - maybe you would hit me up on discord when you get a few min. My discord name is the same.
Just messaged you on Discord :) We can chat there.
Don't you just love sentences that start with, can you...
Can you list the top earners for the month from dlive votes?!
