In the 1990's the popularity of hit games like Doom and Mortal Kombat got the United States government involved in creating a rating system for video games. As if this perfect storm wasn't enough, along came Night Trap. Now considered one of the worst video games of all time and proof that full motion video was not the future of the industry, the title spurned rumors that players were actually supposed to trap scantily clad women and hunt them down.
For better or for worse multiple rating systems were created to help police the wild wild west of gaming popularity.

In this documentary I explore what created the ESRB rating system and how it affecting gaming as a whole. Please let me know what you think, this content is exclusive to DLive to help grow the Steem community!
