The Persimmons Are Blooming
The bees are happily gathering the pollen from the persimmon trees right now. Persimmon pollen makes some of the best honey according to experts. Somewhere out in those woods are bunch of bees with really great honey.
After the pollen is gathered, the bloom falls to the earth and it's a good sign that you we will have a crop this year.

Fascinating! I was first introduced to persimmons as a child when my mom returned from the Land with one to taste. There's a big persimmon farm an hour from our homestead although we've had no success growing our own. They are expensive to buy here in South Africa. But delicious. We've made peach and passion fruit wine but I'd never waste a precious persimmon to try wine!
The persimmons we have are much smaller than the tropical or sub tropical varieties. We have over 300 persimmon trees here so plenty to do a lot with.
Do you always plan on making wine if there is enough Persimmon?
