Buko Salad? Lamaw? Young Coconut with Milk?

My family had been debating which one is the best English translation of the term Lamaw. Here in the Visayas, we have this love for buko flesh and fresh juice mixed with condensed milk and cola with bits of local biscuits.

A close family from the US came for vacation and visited us so we prepared Buko Lamaw for them to try. We went to the coconut trees up in a remote area here in our town, hired a friend to harvest some young coconuts and we had a great time eating the combined ingredients mixed with ice too!

The video here was what I recorded while we were on our way to the coconut plantation which had a great view of the mountains, I recorded a few clips as well when we were finding some wild guava fruits, we as well spotted a rare and weird flower. It was a huge flower and there were beetles living in it. None of the locals knew the name of the flower and I am not sure if this has any poison in it or what but there were a couple of them around, some were even already withering.

The compilation also includes the process of picking some buko from the tree, the opening and taking out of the buko juice and the flesh.
