More steemians are streaming and competition is rising as the platform gets bigger

Recently, I’ve noticed that more people are getting into the Dlive hype train, which is great, but people need to realize that it’s not all about the steem you can get from the platform, it’s a place for where people can produce live streaming content for ANY genre.
I know what you might be thinking: “But Ishnuala, aren’t you connected to steemit for the crypto as well?”
And the answer is yes, I’m very much interested to have the steempower to promote myself, but right now, I’m nowhere near where I want to be, so how do I get there? How do I get that frontpage like @teamfibonacci did?

Alot of people have recently joined Dlive to do the same thing: Stream.

The idea that you can receive Steem from Livestreaming is amazing, so more people have taken interest, also, the recent campaign #DliveStar came back, which motivates even more people to stream in the hopes of getting some Steem out of it.

The #Dlive upvotes and makes it attractive for people to start streaming, but growing on Dlive becomes harder as the platform grows, especially with the Dlivestars campaign in mind, bringing in new people to stream, so that means more competition.

A regular topic that I see when people start streaming and they’re not getting upvoted or growing is: "I’m streaming everyday, working hard and i’m still not successful!"

Well, it’s much harder than it seems, firstly, there’s always room for improvement
So it’s important to produce other content besides the stream, like videos, posts, vlogs etc, and right now, I see lots of potencial, but it’s important to know where to start and where to go.

Here are some of my tips for the newcomers:

1- Can your PC/Laptop handle it?:

First and foremost, depending on what you want to stream, your setup might not be able to process the game and the stream at the same time, not to mention if you’re going to be streaming something heavy like PUBG, you’re going to need to have a high quality processor and GPU. Other games like League of Legends can be streamed with lower quality PCs/Laptops, so select the things you can stream and what you want to stream

Logical Increments has some recommended builds for the games that you want play and I recommend checking out their link on building a pc for streaming here.

2 – Make sure your stream is smooth:

Secondly, you need to see you if can actually stream, even if you have a bad internet connection and not the optimal upload speed, check your settings, like bitrate, quality etc, it’s not always viable to try and stream in 720p or 1080p, see what’s best for you.

If you’re using OBS, I recommend checking out their tips on their forum about the quickstart guide here

3 – Organize your time, work hard & put up videos:

Make sure you actually have time to stream in your daily/nightly routine. Set a schedule for your channel so people know exactly when you go live. Take time as well to produce yourself, if you have the editing skills, edit your livestream recordings, if you have photoshop skills, make a quality thumbnail, overlay etc.

4 – Don’t do it for the money:

This might be the most important one out there, I see lots of people that get into streaming on Dlive for the profit or the upvote, DON’T. Streaming is all about having fun, getting to know people and doing whatever you feel like, whether it’s gaming, drawing, cooking etc. Even though getting into crypto is definitely a money chase, streaming is different, it’s about doing what you love, working hard on yourself even if there are no results. Maintaining a continuous improvement to entertain your followers and yourself, and eventually, you'll get there!
