Dlive 33 - Illawarra Treetop Walk

The Illawarra Treetop Walk is a walk through atop a rainforest. Pretty cool right? They have built metal walkways on top of freaking trees! Get excited for some nature, walking, lots of walking, climbing stairs and Jabawokeeeeez.

Driving to this place, you will see lots of farms, mountains, trees and some wildlife. We didn't see any live ones but did see two road kills. I think it was a wombat and a roo. Poor buggers. It's unavoidable and can be a hazard on the road as my in laws found out trying to dodge a Kangaroo. But that is another story.

We got there pretty early and there weren't much people around. I notice a cafe that serves some food but didn't try it as we were quite full.

Paid for our ticket and followed the path. Take the Treetop walk path because the other one will take you to the zip line tour. Obvious right, not for some.

The walk wasn't long or hard. Anyone can do the walk. We saw elderly couple in their 60's I think and they were fine. I don't know about going up the spiraling stairs though as it was quite high. You might want to skip that one if you aren't up to it.

There are great breathtaking views, especially if you took the stairs. Great to take a lovely girl or boy and just have a lovely conversation whilst gazing at the wilderness.

The price for admission is $25 for adults and $15 for child age from 5 - 15. They have a family deal for family of four, 2 adults and 2 children will cost $75. Paying and booking online will be a tad cheaper. The family deal will cost $70 online. They are open everyday from 9AM to 5PM and the last admission is at 4.15PM.

For the family with little babies, there is access for prams, but you might want to leave the baby while you go up the 106 steps of stairs. You can carry the baby and I recommend a sling as the stairs was an undertaking. Even I was puffing a little bit when I finally reached the top of the tower.
