DLive Southern Utah Series #8 - Bryce Canyon
We're coming down the home stretch with my southern Utah series. This time from Bryce Canyon National Park, one of the most popular spots to visit in Utah. We drove straight there after visiting Cassidy Arch in Capitol Reef National Park.
Since this was filmed in February, it was rather cold there since it's at a rather high elevation even though it's kind of in a desert. It does snow there and when it does, it gets packed down on the walking paths and turns into very slippery ice so we had to be careful in certain spots. One of the paths was closed down due to dangerous levels of ice.
There are quite a few trails that you can choose from to walk through Bryce Canyon. It's not a huge canyon so it really doesn't take long to explore the majority of it. There are certain spots along the rim of the canyon that trails start and end at, which also make good photo spots. @toddhata and I started at Sunrise Point to take the trail down into the canyon and ended up at Sunset Point. Along the way we walked among the giant hoodoos (rock spires) that the canyon is so famous for.

If you've been watching the other videos from this series, you saw that almost all the places we went to in Utah before this were void of other people and we had them all to ourselves. Not so with Bryce Canyon. It's popular even in the dead of Winter.
To end the day, we drove a little way to Inspiration Point, another spot on the rim, to get a good view for sunset. It set behind us so we got some great lighting in the canyon for photos.
Have you heard of Bryce Canyon? Have you wanted to go?
