Happy Fair! - Oregon Country Fair 2018
This past weekend was the magical mystical hippie fest that is the Oregon Country Fair! Keeping track of two toddlers in the middle of all the near naked, sweaty, and often hallucinating masses is no easy task, and we didn't lose either one of them! Pat on the back :) No seriously, 45,000 people attended the three day fair this year and a HUGE chunk of them were on hallucinogens.
The fair grounds are a sprawling and confusing network of paths and meadows along a creek, a beautiful chunk of property that has been sculpted by generations of hippies into a wonderland. Sculptures and art of all varieties around every corner, shelters woven into the bushes, sprinklers up in the trees to mist you as you walk through the shaded paths, potable water fountains seemingly every 100', and above all else thousands and thousands of reminders that the American counterculture is going strong and as weird as ever. I love it :)

Thanks for sharing. It's been about ten years since I attended, the kids were 8 and five then. Glad you didn't lose anyone ;)
Oh wow - this looks like a really magical event to be able to go to. I love that mirrored cat (?) sculpture and the amazing dragon (I have a thing for dragons.) Nice job on not loosing track of the small people- and thanks for sharing your amazing video - it has brought some sunshine and magic into my rather dull office this afternoon.

This looks like a great day!! I love the artwork! Especially the first shot, it looks like a character from the Never Ending Story! Classic!
I have to admit, if I was younger it would have been a good day for hallucinogens. Between the music and that piece with the mirrors...LOL!!
Pssttt... guess who's back? This looks really cool! I think that's Dragonite in the thumbnail of the clip? And the cat is from Alice in Wonderland?

LOL, it wasn't you who "didn't" break a sweat that you're talking about huh xD. Did you perform the dick song here? It would be a massive hit. xD
I haven't ever performed at the Country Fair - they have an involved process with literally a several year waiting list for acts. I never wanted to navigate it. Oregon Country Fair is a huge deal in the American counterculture. It is every bit as much of a fixture and a big deal (in its own way) as Burning Man or Rainbow Festival. They close the fairgrounds to the public at 7pm and then "fair family" (all the volunteers and organizers) have a huge party all night every night of the fair). It is a really really cool property, around every corner there is something awesome that some stoned person thought up some time :)
