Did the House Really Approve a Landmark Cannabis Legalization Bill?

As 2020 nears, the house has approved a landmark bill that could legalize cannabis at the federal level.

Amazingly, the bill has provisions for removal from the Category 1 DEA classification and a taxation rate.

Will 2020 be the year the prohibition ends?  Is this the turning point for legalizaiton of cannabis?

Well... No, the House didn't approve a federal legalization bill. A Committee of the House did, which may lead to the bill being forwarded for reading and voting.

But tbh I'm rather baffled about this. Not about the bill but about the timing. With the 2020 elections around the corner, #endprohibition may result in massive bonus votes. So I'm wondering why the House would want to take the risk of allowing the Rep Senate to control whether Trump goes for the extra votes, last minute embracing legalization, or alternatively to damage one of the easy campaign promises for the D-presidential candidate.

If the House passes the bill... Republicans are in full control of the #EndProhibition electoral impact.
