Operation Crossroads Baker A-Bomb Test

Something which I find truly awe inspiring is the footage from the baker bomb test at bikini atoll.

There is footage of a huge range of different tests but none of them truly demonstrate the raw power of the A-Bomb quite like the baker test.

the side on view of the test is just amazing, to see that vast column of water is just amazing. The water column along consists of millions on tonnes of water, and the wall of water which envelopes the ships surrounding the blast was hundreds of feet high.

I have to admit I have watched this footage countless times and never get sick of it.
