Hong Kong protesters slam LeBron James over China comments
Now Lebron James is at the center of the Chinese-Hong Kon-NBA controversy.
It is bad enough that Daryl Morey upset the Chinese with his tweet about Hong Kong that he is costing the NBA millions of dollars. Houston is the most popular NBA team in China. Being the GM for the Rockets, his comments caused all forms of Rocket game broadcasts to be cancelled.
Lebron James was in the bad position of being the NBA's most recognized athlete along with actually being in China to play the Nets in an exhibition game.
James spoke out about the affair and now Hong Kong is upset. Many are calling James a hypocrite for using his platform as a superstar to speak out about social issues yet feeling that the people in Hong Kong do not matter.
Still others believe that it was all financial with James and the lost of millions to the league trumps all else. The NBA salary cap might go down next year as a result of Morley's tweet.
