Stories like this always make me think back to the "Black Death" or the Plague. Just imagine the sheer terror those people suffered. Those who were killed by it had AWFUL deaths, and even those who just WITNESSED it were almost certainly psychologically devastated. One day everything is fine, then, over the next year or so, 1 in 3 people in the entire world (to you) dies this horrid and brutal death. Makes me empathize with them, and feel gratitude it's 2020.
