The man accused of going on a stabbing rampage in central Sydney on Tuesday has been charged with the murder of a 24-year-old woman and the attempted murder of another 41-year-old woman.

Mert Ney, 20, spent four days undergoing a mental heath assessment in hospital before he was taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where he was formally charged
