You Must Not Say Evil Things And You Must Not Tell Lies

Keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. God is a God of absolute truth, and he expects his children to live lives of truth as well. Think about Jesus and his disciples. They were persecuted for their faith. It would have been easy to rationalize and lie their way out, but they didn’t. They continued to tell the truth even when their honesty cost them their lives. They knew their reward was in heaven.

You destroy those who tell lies.

Ask God to search your heart and bring to your mind any lies you’ve told recently. Ask him to forgive you, and be willing to make things right with the person you lied to.
