The investment firm founded by the world's third richest person posted a big jump in profits, as a rise in US stock markets more than made up for falling profits from insurance operations. Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway said on Saturday that pre-tax profits in the three months to June had swelled by almost a fifth to $17
