Liverpol kembali menunjukkan keperkasaannya atas tim tamu Shouthamton di Anfield. Laga Inggris pekan ke 25 tersebut seakan menyatakan bahwa pasukan Jurgen Kloop tersebut telah siap mengamankan gelar lebih cepat musim ini.
Kemenangan 4:0 atas Soton membuat jarak antara Liverpol dan Manchester City menjadi 22 poin, bahkan ini menjadikan sejarah baru di Liga Inggris sepanjang masa. Dengan selisih poin cukup besar tentunya Jurgen Kloop tidak mau terlena terhadap Manchester City.
Kloop masih sangat kesal dengan kejadian musim lalu, Manchester City dibawah arahan Pep Guardiola menggagalkan Gelar Liverpol dipenghujung musim, sehingga gelar terbang ke Etihad Stadium
