What an awful thing that is !! At least she didn't die in pain but its incredible that these things can happen. Brain eating bugs are the stuff of nightmares!
In the yogic tradition practitioners are advised to use the neti pot only with saline water and to blow the nostrils about 6 time to clear the saline water. When such practices are adopted by the western world adaptations are make without considering the consequences.
