Their regular season didn't even get underway before the team started trading away any veteran who had value. The return was picks. It is obvious the Dolphins are going to remake their roster through the draft.
After seeing many of his teammates shuttled out of town, Kenyan Drake is hearing his name in the discussion. He might well be the next one to leave town.
The Dolphins admitted they have had discussions with other teams regarding Drake. He is set to be a free agent at the end of the season and the team has not engaged in any extension talks.
At this point, trading him makes sense for Miami. The team is going for the first or second pick in the draft, in other words nowhere. A rebuild takes 3-4 years in the NFL meaning that if Miami did it well, another couple years of Drake's career would be wasted.
Plus, running backs tend to spring up from many places. It might be the easiest position to replace.
