It’s arguably a fact that Nigeria strikers are always among the best in Africa, from record, success, and statistics of some of them.
Let take a shot at some few names
Former Nigeria striker Late Yekini Rashidi, Rashidi was a great football legend as Africa is concern.
He scored the first-ever goal at the world cup for Nigeria. Rashidi scored 37 goals as a Nigerian international, he represented Nigeria in 5 different tournaments which include 2worldcups, and he also won the African footballer of the year in 1993. He remains Nigerian all-time highest goal scorer, helping the nation Super Eagles to win 1994 African Cup of Nations in Tunisia which also saw became the tournament’s top scorer and the best player of the competition.

Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins aka oba goal (kings of goals)
Martins also played a huge part in Super Eagles of Nigeria team as a striker, the former Inter Milan forward, oba goal fondly called by his fans, he’s widely known for his speed on the ball as he outruns any defender, he’s also considered as one of the fine strikers to have come out of Africa.
Martins made his debut in London for Super Eagles of Nigeria in 2004 tri-nations Unity cup at the age of 19, he was part of the team that finished third where he scored just 2goals.
He had some many outings for the Super Eagles of Nigeria with 42 caps scoring 19goals.
Martins started his career in 1999-2000 with a club called Ebedie in Nigeria before moving to Raggiana In 2000 before moving to Inter Milan in 2001, where he had 88 caps scoring 28 goals from 2001-2006.
During his stay in Italy, Martins won few trophy before moving to Newcastle in England where he capped 88 games and scoring 28 goals, did more moves to Wolfsburg, Rubin Kazan Birmingham city, Levante, Seattle sounder fc, shanghai Shenhua before quitting in 2018
He also had 2 brothers who played football professionally.

Yakubu Ayegbeni, fondly called THE YAK
Yakubu is one of the strikers that has really done his best for the super eagles of Nigeria during his time.
Former Blackburn, Middlesbrough and Everton striker who has played really well for his national team, even though he had his name in the list of many Nigerians’ blacklist for missing an unbelievable chance at the world cup but despite that his start proves he is one of the best strikers Nigeria ever had.

Yakubu Ayebgeni both locally and internationally has proven him to be among the best, having capped 57, scoring 21 times for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, club appearance of 428 and scoring 172 goals.
Yakubu is the third-highest scorer in the history of Nigeria national football team, he also represented them at four African Cup of Nations finals, the 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP, 2000 Summer Olympics.
Yak still remains one of African best.

Lastly, Jude Odion Ighalo who won the golden boot at the just concluded AFCON 2019 a very sharp striker who terrorizes any defense effortlessly.
The former Watford striker currently plays for a Chinese Club Shangai Grenland Shenhua, recently retired from an international football that has really brought some many talking to so many Nigerian fans.
Ighalo made his debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria In 2015, he represented the nation in the world cup and as well in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations where he retires.
His career started in Nigeria before moving to Norway‘s Lyn in 2007, later moved to Udinese in Italy despite the series of movement in Italy he eventually sways down to Watford as a loanee from Udinese in 2014, which later signed a deal permanently with the English side.
Odion played 35 times for the Super Eagles scoring just 16 times. Having scored 7 times in 9 appearances for his club-based team Side Shanghai Shenhua,
