Sewing doesn't have to be complicated to yield great results. I actually made one of these a few years ago and I was really pleased with the result. Part of the reason is that the style is very forgiving. If there's a minor mistake in your construction, there are probably hundreds of options for draping that can disguise it. But you can try them out yourself and see. If you're so inclined, you can even make a romper version. The long straps are the source of this pattern's versatility so the skirt portion can be reimagined however you like.
