The shared link discusses the issue of data collected by smart home devices such as smart TV and smart doorbells

The author of the article contends that technically the users have agreed to sell the data when they set up the devices. We wonder how that could be when there was no offer to sell by the user followed by acceptance by the vendor. There was simply deception on the part of one party to steal data from another without the other's express consent.

For the sake of completeness the article should have also discussed the effect of GDPR, if any, on such collection of data.
