The deal Trump gave Democrats sucks, but hey, at least it's a start. But the Trump supporters are pissed at Trump, calling the deal "Amnesty" for the Immigrants. Which it is NOT! This is why Trump blew up the last deal that both Republicans and Democrats and he agreed on, which caused this shutdown in the first place. Very hard to negotiate with a base that doesn't want to give anything in return.

The shutdown will end when Democrats step up to protect America with $5 billion towards the wall.
The wall will never be built. But let's just say the Dems give in, you do realize it will be years before a 2,000 mile wall could be built, right? And Trump will not always be President, and when the next Democratic President gets in, he or she will cancel funding for the wall. So just like Trump is un doing all of Obama's stuff, the next Democrat President will undo all of Trumps stuff. Besides, some estimates say it could take 50 years to build this wall, me and you will probably be dead by then.

Many parts of the wall already existed, the current debate is not over a 2000 mile wall, it is over 5 billion for fences. But now when Trump gets that $5 billion for fences, which are clearly needed, he can say he got the wall. The thing about the wall is that whatever Trump builds will exist, will the Democrats spend money to tear it down?
But how can he say he got the wall, when the wall is a fence? The Democrats are in favor of fencing, hell I am too. So why wont Trump just say he wants 5 billion for fencing instead of wall? Then this shutdown would be over.
