The British news portal, Football Insider, claimed that West Ham was interested in the services of Neil Etheridge to strengthen their defense.

West Ham United coach Manue Pallegrini sees the Philippine national team goalkeeper as the ideal candidate as a goalkeeper for his club.

Although the club were relegated, Etheridge did manage to improve its reputation in the Premier League by recording 10 Nirbol in 28 matches, better than David de Gea (Manchester United).
