Trade disruption from recent attacks by armed groups along the Myanmar-China border may last longer than the attack on the 105th-mile camp that occurred in late 2016.

Mandalay-based rice trader U Sai Kyaw said traders were worried for their safety. “I assume that the situation this time around is worst than the one in 2016. It seems that the insurgents are targeting mainly trading,” he said.
