#182 How Do You Feel About Wayno on Everyday Struggle?
So today, I watched an episode of Everyday Struggle and Michael Blackson was today's guest. The set was crowded as the crew sat around that kid's coffee table they have. Everyday Struggle decided to include a gentleman that goes by Wayno as a permanent member. I never heard of Wayno until his 1st appearance on the show, but he has an interesting perspective. He is the owner of his own media label and previously had a management position at Roc A Fella Records. To those not familiar, Roc A Fella was spearheaded by Damon Dash and was eventually ran by it's stand out star, Jay-Z. The second time they invited Wayno up there I assumed he would be a recurring guest, not a staple. Adding him adds texture to the show, but until they properly mesh it seems to be filler having an extra voice up there.
STAR seemed to be finding his footing with Akademiks and Nadeska, but I suppose Complex thought otherwise. STAR is a guy who has officially found his second wind in what I'll call the mainstream music industry. On STAR's youtube livestream he's hinted at signing on to do other shows, likely because of his newfound visibility being on Everyday Struggle. It took Akademiks and Joe Budden a strong 3 - 5 months to find that excellent back and forth I enjoy without the occasional guest worship, hijacking, or Joe laughing at his unfunny jokes. Their LA week seemed to solidify them for the long haul, until Joe was present what he felt was an unfavorable contract. To me, Ak and Joe had a big to little brother relationship where STAR and Ak have a nephew to crazy/drunk uncle relationship. STAR is restrained to an extent not because I think he's so worried about brand deals, but, Complex has been notorious for chopping footage out of Everyday Struggle that would have been key in a bunch of situations that played out from the show. STAR has made this clear on his livestream as well. They further ruin chemistry doing simple things like not including STAR's name on the opening credits.
