New 3d printer in the house - Photos of the Prusa i3 MK2S assembly
Edit: After some rounds of calibrating I printed my first part with the new printer and I am happy with the result!
My Prusa 3d printer (kit) finally arrived yesterday after 2,5 month waiting. I couldn't wait to open the box and start with the assembly.
Preperation is everything, so in order to keep oversight of the various packages and tools I borrowed the pattern table from my wife and arranged the boxes and tools I needed to start with.
First thing to build as per the manual was the Y axis of the printer. The emphasis was to make sure it is perpendicular and straight in order to avoid calibration issues later on. Therefore I took my time to make sure it is build correctly.
I than attached the Y Motor and the heated bed holder on to the Y frame.
With that being done the next step was to assemble the X Axis and eventually mount it to the aluminium frame and the print bed (Y axis).
After that it was time to build the extruder. Building it was no problem but it took me a lot of time since I had to widen the plastic cutouts for the nut holder. (All the orange parts you see are actually 3d printed by Prusa).
At last the Extruder was screwed tight to the x axis frame.
On to the heard of the printer, a Rambo board!
Wiring is not my favourite thing to do but the manual made it very easy and I could complete this quiet quickly. (It was already very late at that time)
Finally, after 2 afternoons working on it the assembly was finally complete and I was extra happy after I turned on the power and no major issues came up.
I am now busy to make sure the printer is properly calibrated and once that is done I start to make some nice prints which I am going to post later on steemit.
If i were in your place i would print steemit LOGO , it would be great !!
Thank you for the suggestion.
Very nice! Where you bought it?
It is you first 3D printer?
How was you first print?
I bought it directly from prusa.com. This is my second 3d printer. I had a Printerbot Simple metal but thought after 3 years it is time for an upgrade.
Please make a review about it. I want know how good this model is.
Will do, thank you.
Awesome, can't wait to see your first print!
Thank you! Yes I am looking forward to it too and will share some pictures asap.
Followed!!
Followed back! :-)
