Update on the skid steer repair.

in #diy2 years ago

I've posted before on the skid steer we have been rebuilding for a Couple of months. It was in decent condition but we decided to do a full repair, because it will be worked hard soon.

Replaced a leaky tire:

It no longer leaks, and looks good too!

We also planned to replace all the hoses, which is now done. All the small hydraulic leaks are now sealed!

Here's the old hoses:

They look better in the bucket, LOL!

These were the hardest to remove:

So I had the honor, after everyone else gave up....
But the new replacements Do look good, and this was the last of them!

We still need to replace all the filters:

All the fluids look clean, but we will take no chances! All the fluids will be replaced at the same time. Sadly the filter set we ordered, to fit This machine; was the wrong size! Or we'd have already replaced the filters....

There is a little welding needed on the bucket:

Already arranged for, and one life arm has a crack that will be rewelded. The cutting edge will be flattened and reworked with stellite or borod, to harden the cutting surface.

Then she'll be ready to work hard! Got two driveways to build; and some existing cement work to remove, already planned.

Once we have the filters and fluids finished, we will move the unit to be welded! We may even add some paint after welding.
