Drywall Work Makes Me Look Deranged

in diy •  last month

This bathroom remodeling project is starting to pick up STEEM. The drywall is nearly done and the KERDIBOARD is up. Now I need to paint on some primer for the ceiling and walls. I also need to install two shower alcoves and waterproof the seams.

I've never heard of this board. I'm assuming its a type of tile backer. when i use cement board, the mastic itself is used as a seam sealer. is yours a tape of some sort?

·

Yes it is much nicer to use than cement board. Very light and easy to cut, but also quite stiff. The core is hard foam and the facing is a waterproof nonwoven cloth. You tape the seams with a strip of the cloth bedded in mortar. It is a Schluter product.

Ha ha ha, brilliant!! There's a touch of Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo Nest with the hair... :o) Classic movie...

Nobody is better than Jack Nicholson at looking deranged.
