Colonel Mustard, in the study, with the candlestick.
The layout of the spare room/ study/ dressing room is becoming quite the mystery.
I've been using roomstyler3D to try and help me work out the best floor plan.
I'm not totally happy with the renderings; I'm a newbie to it and a novice, so I'm sure some things come with time and learned skills. There are certain things that annoy me; like I can't seem to be able to paint the skirting board (which took me forever to find from the list) a different colour, and the fact that the skirting board automatically appeared half way up the wall... not perpendicular to the floor.. surely if it's half way up the wall it's not skirting, it's a dado rail? Why is this the default position?
Also, the furniture I've used fits the approximate size of my own furniture, but not really the style, leaving the room to look somewhat incoherent.
Anyway, this is what I have produced so far.
The window faces southwest, but for ease of explanation I'll denote the wall with the window as west, the wall with the door as north, the long wall with the closet as east, and the wall you see directly opposite as you walk in the door will be south.
Option 1 Desk and large chest of drawers on the south wall , wardrobe and small chest of drawers on the north wall.
Option 2 Desk on east wall, wardrobe on south wall, both chests of drawers on north wall.
Option 3 Desk on west wall, wardrobe and chests of drawers on south wall.
Option 4 Desk on west wall, wardrobe and large chest of drawers on east wall, small chest of drawers on south wall.
Right now I'm thinking either option 1 or 3. With 3, I might have less usable wall space for mirrors, pin boards, shelves etc., buuuuut, I might be able to squeeze an armchair in there, and that would make me so happy 😃😃😃🤗🤗🤗 .
I love armchairs/ occasional chairs. I could spend hours looking at them; honestly, it's like porn for me.
You could snuggle up in a cosy Harris Tweed beauty, a wee dram and an enveloping book...
Or be eaten by a shark!!!!!!!!
What do you think of the room layout options? Any helpful tips or suggestions?
Hope you enjoy!
