Offgrid Living on the Big Island of Hawaii - Getting Control of the Weeds and Ants

We finally got rid of most of the weeds that grew in the two months we were quarantined on Oahu.

We pulled most of them out by hand as they grew big and the dirt was shallow.

We got rid of the rest with multiple passes of the area with our Propane Blow Torch. This is the perfect took to keep the lava clear.

The new problem we are having are the ants. They are all over the place and some how have gotten in the kitchen.

We take the Blow Torch to run it over the ground by the steps and the kitchen and this gets rid of them for a little while.

We have a small cooking torch and we use this by the sink area where the ants come out in force when we run the water or put any food on the counter. We don't want to use sprays so the torch works OK but some times the ants keep on coming.

We need to find another way to control the ants in the kitchen without using insecticides.
