DIY Bow Build - Part 2

in #diy6 years ago

Hey Steemers!!
Yesterday, I started the process of building a new bow. Today, I want to share some of my progress.

I started off by cutting out the rough shape of the handle with a jig saw.

Now that the rough shape is cut out, I can begin the tedious rasping and filing to get the handle to fit my hand perfectly. Its a slow process when done by hand, but the result is amazing.

Here's about 30 minutes of that process sped up 10× to give you an idea of how it looks.

I still have a few more hours of work to get the handle how I want it, but here's what it looks like so far.

Thanks for following along! I'm going back to work on that handle. In part 3, I'll be working on shaping the tips and continuing to fine tune the handle. Stay tuned!!

Wow! That’s a lot of work. I’m looking forward to seeing how that piece of wood is transformed into a bow. You should also post your progress on #steemmakers too with a link to your first post.

I see the hashtag but is it also a page to folliw? I may need some instructional help.
