Gardening Journey - Sunflower

in #diy6 years ago (edited)

As a girl, I think it's pretty normal to show admiration to flowers. Being sent some, and receiving, affects a woman in some ways other gifts cannot. Personally, I've only received flowers a few times in my life. I believe that if you can't buy, then make. (It's kind of my mantra in baking which I will apply in gardening). So if it's expensive out, plant your own.

Apparently, sunflowers have become a thing in our place recently. With the previous Valentines Day and Mother's Day, it has been a popular gift to give. Since I don't have a Valentine for a long time now, and I am not yet a mother, I grew my own flower for myself and for other people to appreciate when they pass by our front yard.

I present to you, my first sunflower.

I posted this photo a while back in my instagram account (go follow --> http://instagram.com/avmgs).

And since it's a living thing, the flower wilted in its own time.

But despite it dying, it left me with so many seeds I just started to grow. I'm so excited to see them once they are fully grown ups!

I'll post photos of these babies once they get bigger.
