Happy Diwali

Oh!! Here comes the day that we all have been looking forward to… It’s Diwali, the festival of lights - illuminating the Earth as well as the skies, and filling joy and hope in every person’s life!
During Diwali, wherever one goes, the atmosphere is exuberant, with the diyas glowing in every place, lighting up houses, offices and surrounding space and kindling into people’s minds and hearts, feelings of brotherhood, peace, harmony and grace. There’s celebration and excitement everywhere, with kids thoroughly enjoying their vacation, running around and playing all day long, the younger generation busy preparing sweets and distributing gifts to the guests and servicemen and the elderly showering gracious blessings, doing puja and praying for the welfare of all.
Diwali, being one of the most glorious festivals of India, has immense spiritual significance
It is celebrated every year on the new moon night i.e. Amavasya of the Hindu month of Kartik.
While Hindus rejoice the history of homecoming of Lord Rama after his 14 years of exile, for Jains, it is the most auspicious Nirvan day of their most beloved Lord Mahavir, who attained the highest state of spiritual realization and spread it to the masses. For Sikhs, Diwali is a special day that marks their most revered Guru Hargobind Singhji’s release from prison, along with 52 other princes; and for Buddhists, Diwali is a big day on which Emperor Ashoka, following his killing spree in the Battle of Kalinga, decided to follow the path of Buddhism.
Thus, all in all, since Diwali is a spiritual festival signifying the triumph of light over darkness and celebrating the victory of knowledge over ignorance, it becomes an occasion to cherish new beginnings on the spiritual side.
Diwali symbolizes ‘Awakening our inner light’!
The essence of the festival lies in the Sanskrit shloka, ‘Tamaso ma jyotirgamaya’ which means ‘lead me from darkness to light!’ Moving from darkness towards light implies breaking the shackles of our ignorance of Self (our real Self which is Soul) and enlightening our Soul.
Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan says, “The happiness that you seek cannot be found in this (worldly life). Happiness is in the Self (Atma). I have felt that happiness, I have experienced it.”
His experience was the result of his spiritual quest of numerous previous births, but what is astounding is that we can experience it too, and that too in just two hours, through his discovery of a scientific process of Self Realization called Gnan Vidhi.
This means we can attain Self-Realization in just two hours and remove the darkness of ignorance from our life forever?
Yes indeed!
After Gnan Vidhi,

  • The conviction that ‘I am Pure Soul’ is firmly established within,
  • The awareness of really who am I gets initiated,
  • The right understanding manifests within, which eventually leads to a right conduct, thus bringing peace, happiness and harmony into our life,
  • The feeling of oneness with everyone arises within, because our real Self i.e. the Soul is uniform, meaning similar in nature, in case of everyone.
In what better way can we celebrate our Diwali then?!
So come, let us all pray together that, ‘May this Diwali, the darkness of our inner ignorance be dispelled and the light of knowledge of Self be kindled within, thus bringing in abundant happiness into ours as well as everyone’s life. May we all reach the zenith of right understanding so that eternal bliss prevails within.’
Wish you all a very Happy Diwali! May the light of real knowledge spread across the globe!
