Disney+ release in 4 days - What to watch? Is it worth it?steemCreated with Sketch.

in #disney5 years ago (edited)

It is only four days left before the release of the Disney+ platform. Unfortunately, the platform will not be available worldwide, but only in the United States, in Canada, and in the Netherlands. One week later, on November 19th, the platform will be released in Australia and in New Zealand as well. What about the rest of us? We will have to wait some more!

I will look for ways to get access to Disney+ outside the mentioned countries as well, but it is hard to say anything about if it can be done and how before the actual release. Updates and information can be found in this article in the future.

Will Disney+ be worth the money?

I have been watching trailers and getting ready for this article for some hours now, and after doing some research, I am really enthusiastic about the new streaming platform. They will have so much original content available, and the most famous and anticipated is the brand new Star Wars series named The Mandalorian.

But, there will also be Disney+ Original Movies coming, including a Christmas movie starring Anna Kendrick, there will be a modern version of Lady and the Tramp, and the platform will also release the highest-grossing movie in 2019 on their platform upon release, that is, Avengers: Endgame. Besides this Marvel movie, there will also be lots of other movies, including Guardians of the Galaxy, several Iron Man movies, one Thor movie, and also a quite new movie named Captain Marvel.

Not so much junk on Disney+

It is impossible to speak about Disney+ without comparing it to Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and other streaming services. Based on what I can see so far, Disney+ might be more about quality than quantity (unlike Netflix). Of course, Netflix does produce a lot of great content, but if you look at their selection of new Christmas movies for 2019, it is mostly all about junk.

So, based on what I can see so far, Disney+ will be more like HBO, meaning that they add quality as a keyword to everything they produce.

I am really looking forward to getting my Disney+ subscription and to start streaming their original content! Are you considering buying a subscription to Disney+? Are there any movies or series that you really look forward to watching on the platform? I would love to hear your thoughts!
