Disney's Coco - My Review

in #disney7 years ago

Disney's Coco is an animated musical fantasy adventure film by Pixar, a talented team that transports you into a beautiful cinematic experience - one that you and your kids will want to be a part of.
This movie is the journey of a 12-year old boy named Miguel, who visits the land of dead and helps his great great grandfather return to the family in the land of living to be remembered.

When Miguel, a 12-year old boy from a cobbler family, wants to follow his own talent and love for music against the wishes of his family - you will see the resistance of a kid that age to not follow what you want them to do. You will realize the family's reason for being against music is because Miguel's great great grandmother Coco and her Mom were left to live by themselves by the very famous musician Ernesto Del A Cruz. We often find reasons to put forth before our kids so that they should only do what we want rather than 'listening' to what interests our kids and help them hone their hobby in the right manner. There should always be Hope, Faith, and Love in what we teach our kids for them to explore what future holds while also making the world a better place.

However, Miguel tries to participate in the contest anyway. While doing so, he accidentally reaches the land of dead, (which is a visual treat created by Pixar - good to watch in 3D), where everyone who is passed away but still remembered by their family are continuing their journey. But if your family forgets you then it would be time and you would wither away even from the dead to be forgotten forever. From here, the journey of Miguel is to be witnessed where he discovers who his great great grandfather was and works to bring him back to the family to be remembered and cherished. And with his journey, I witnessed that audiences were transposed to their own journey - trying to realize what is present, what is lost, and what should be left behind to remember and be remembered. Life's journey is different for everyone and everyone SHOULD discover it. And above all, the movie shows the importance of family and togetherness that we all long for.

Best moment in the movie - This is when Miguel comes back to the land of living and desperately tries to remind Coco of her father. I cannot describe in words this moment that struck an emotional chord with all audiences, from ages 3 (my own daughter) to 83 (sitting across us), and I am not exaggerating. Everyone burst into an emotion so beautiful making me realize that the movie has transposed everyone into their own life journey (for parents) or get touched by the outburst of Miguel (for kids). And then the movie ends with Coco remember her father and Miguel helping his family bring back respect for the great great grandfather, while he also gets to live his dream and love for music. A perfect family movie for all reasons and seasons. Go watch it!
