Cops in Toronto work 4 shifts each 12 hours long per week. I think with trucking vs policing, is that trucking can get boring and mundane, depending where you're driving. Some roads are long straight and nothing changes much for many hours. Whereas, at least an active on duty cop, is getting a change of scenery constantly.
