There have been something that I have been working on since the begining of the year and between School and Steemit, It may be a while before I share the full details here on my Blog

I have been able to however make a huge break through on an issue that plays a vital role on how my actions for the next 18 months will pan out

A lot of thought process went into making the decision and I will like to throw out the question here and see what you guys think. The question is

Which is better, building a businesss from scratch or raising Money to launch a Business which do you think is better

I am in a position right now where I can do both. I have already had an experience building from Scratch from the way I built my personal brand here on Steemit and I already know the things I can put in place to easily raise Money from potential patners because I already understand the power of value exchange

This dillemma all goes back to what I discussed yesterday and that is delayed gratification. We always want to scale whatever we are doing to amazing heights and most times we don't really take out time to put the structrues In place to support It

You may argue that starting with Investors Money can give you a boost, but there is also something about buuilding capacity before scaling. There have been occassions where new businesses got huge funding boosts, but ended up flopping

There is also the race we all feel to prove something to people around us, whether our family, friends or people we see as competitors. The truth is that Life is very Long to do that. you can basically waste your life till you are 40 then sit up and totally crush it.

The founder of KFC started building the compnay at the age of 65 and we all know how far the business have come. I believe that one of the greatest thing we need to overcome is optic gaming. We must resist that urge we have to show people that we are remarkable, because it ends up making you make dumb decisions

So enough of my talk, go to the comment section below and share which you think is better, building from scratch or raising Money

I will give all comments my full upvote and reply

I think you make a good point about building up capacity before scaling. I think it's better to start from scratch and invest your own money for most things. Starting from scratch will help you build the fundamentals and learn from your mistakes when there is less money on the table. I'm starting a business from scratch right now with my friend and we are using all our own money. We have huge plans for the future but right now we just need to focus on learning everything we can and having the best product possible.

Thanks for the Insight @austinhopper. I appreciate

I think as long as you make a good business plan and stick with it - (as in don’t launch your business earlier than the date you set to start it), then it would be great to also have some investors in your business. If you don’t want to worry about buying them out of the business someday, then just use your own money to start it!

Thanks for the feedback @violetmed

Well i will add little. Both are still ok and good. Building from scratch is cool, it gives one energy ,takes out fear but sometimes reduces input since you know even if you lose any money, you owe no one. Building from scracth also brings out the best, that latent talent in every being. Building from scratch has a very high young modulus but speaks great future potentials.

The other part which is raising money for a business seems not cool. Its injects unbalance inputs, liberates unnecessary seriousness in a man. Makes a man place judgement on output and not of quality. Seems not cool to me.

In summary, the best is setting a sponsor group where everyone will gain according to his input. If it fails, all fails, if it succeds ,all enjoys.
This way, many heads must make the biz succed

In summary, the best is setting a sponsor group where everyone will again according to his input. If it fails, all fails, if it succeds ,all enjoys.

This is one of the thing that came to my my mind as I was weighing my options .

Thanks a lot for your advice @drigweeu

Welcome bro. God will give you more strenght to succed

You'd be lucky to be in the position to do both. Most startups have to start from scratch to make a name. The name made could be used to borrow to expand the business. Bear in mind that most lending firm or loan brokers won't give a loan to most startup unless your product already made them interested. The other day I saw a startup firm that wants millions to enable them to launch a new type of generator that is powered by magnets. It'd be hard for such company to get loan or backers unless of course, they produce a small working prototype to show they could figuratively put their money where their mouth is.
So for a brand new project, I'd say start from scratch, make mistakes. You can then correct the errors made and get some useful experience out of it. You can't afford to make a costly mistake if you are in experimenting stage while using other people's resources.

Thanks a million for this. I need to to afford to make mistakes. I felt that working with people's Money will always push me to make hasty decisions or laden me with a lot of baggage that will hamper my decision making process.

I can afford to fail big with my resources. Thanks for the amazing feedback as usual @greenrun. I have missed your engagement

I've been super busy of late. Every once in a while I do pop in. Keep steeming.

I concur bro to all you've said. I always say to my self "just start somewhere" I believe with time you would look back and be grateful you started now. Whether you build from scratch or start somewhere "just start". You raise cash to build something and I'm sure you build from the ground not from up.

Thanks for chipping in @prettypercy

For me any decision should be productive, depending on the type of business. Starting from scratch gives you a broad understanding of what you're doing, you're able to see opportunities and get more ideas on how to increase profits and all..but as for raising money it still depends on the kinda business you wanna run with it especially if you're investing it in different places. But for long term purpose I'll go with starting from scratch.

Thanks for your contribution @kingeazi

Nice thought, I think Building from the scratch will be alot more better, although It might not be easy

Thanks for the feedback @vintageverve

I'm a huge fan. Straight to the issue of the day, I believe scratching is better than raising funds, reason been that, if you have started with nothing and attain, there is a very degree of assurance that such a person will fall but that's not the case of raising funds. Keep doing your great your @ogochukwu.

@ugochukwu , I prefer starting from scratch but it can be more difficult if you don't have a fortune to invest with, but you can still build a successful business by using proven processes and routines. Here are four essentials of starting from scratch:

  1. Find one a particular problem solve it more thoroughly
  2. Start with what you currently have.
  3. Develop and follow systematic routines.
  4. Don't do it alone.

Hi @ogochukwu
I am the one who gave you my number at digital abundance opening event in Lagos last Saturday.

I think starting from the scratch and building capacity should always come first then after that, partnership. I believe this will give space for learning and development. So, I think the two could complement each other.
Thank you.
