It will ALSO attempt to recover part of the top stage...half of the fairing.

Sorry about that first stage Falcon 9....it's old and past it's prime. It's seen more than one flight into orbit already. It's not a young booster anymore. Time to let it die.
Rather than recover it and tear it down for scrap, it will go out like a shooting star.
Novel idea. Something NASA could only dream of apparently...
