Frankly, I think it would be better for someone to just keep an eye on him and make sure he's not actually doing what he is jokingly tweeting about.

I tend to agree with you here, it's a dangerous precedent to start having people fired for stuff they are saying.
The problem here is that the implication is of child abuse to put it lightly.
I'm not sure what it is with these creative types and their tendency towards being sexual predators, or if it's just something that comes out of Hollywood itself, but it seems these organizations are now at least on the surface trying to separate themselves from that taint of sex abuse.
It wasn't to say that he should be fired for those tweets as much as to put into perspective what this person could have been talking about that would lead to his firing.
They've been programming children's entertainment for decades.

Have they pulled all of the Hanna Montana shows off air, locked them in a box or burned all the tapes. What about all the other offensive cartoons that are still out there from disney? Personally I see it as nothing more than a publicity stunt, and an excuse for when the Movie he was working on fails miserably at the box office.
